Thank you for visiting Tilted Kilt and for your interest in Border Terriers. We recommend that you do your research before deciding if the BT is the right dog for you. Before purchasing your puppy, there are some facts you should know. A must read is the Border Terrier “Breed in Brief” pamphlet, published by the Border Terrier Club Of America. You can visit their website http://www.btcoa.org to order one and learn other valuable information.
It is very important to us that we place each of our puppies in a home where the puppy will be a cherished member of the household. In order for us to do so, it is imperative to match each puppy to the family’s needs. Be prepared to answer many questions about your lifestyle so that we know what you are looking for, and are therefore able to place a suitable puppy with you.
We strive to produce versatile, quality Border Terriers. Our goal as a breeder is to produce puppies that align with the breed standard while focusing on health and outstanding temperaments. As a member of the BTCA we abide by the clubs ethical standards and support the health testing of all breeding stock.
While Border Terriers are relatively healthy, there are health problems to be aware of. Health testing is important and can provide some assurance, but no breeder can guarantee that every puppy will be free of all health problems. It is imperative to purchase your puppy from a breeder that conducts health testing on all breeding stock.
At Tilted Kilt all breeding stock is screened for known common diseases in Border Terriers and we encourage puppy owners to do the same, whether they intend to breed/exhibit their dogs or not.
Our puppies are raised in a family environment, in our home, with us, where they are socialized, trained and cared for during the 9 weeks they remain with us before going to their new homes.
Puppies will have had their dew-claws removed, received two sets of vaccinations, worming and are micro-chipped. We provide all puppy buyers with vaccination records, pedigree, health clearances for the Sire and Dam, puppy feeding, raising, training and grooming information. All “pet” puppies sold on a spay/neuter contract. Contract required for show/breeding potential puppy.
